Paul Graham, posting on X:
The deprioritization of tweets with links in them is Twitter's biggest flaw. It bothers me more than all the new right-wing trolls. Trolls I'm used to, but what draws me to Twitter is to find out what's going on, and you can't do that without links.
Elon Musk, in a reply:
Just write a description in the main post and put the link in the reply. This just stops lazy linking.
Twitter thrived as a place where you could discover great content, whether it was websites, blogs, scientific papers, videos, songs, or apps. X now deprioritizes posts with links. Artists can’t share their art, developers can’t share their apps, writers can’t share their stories outside of X (or, as Musk suggests, in a reply), or their content will be deprioritized. The open web is not X.
Kevin Rothrock, posting on Bluesky:
hard to exaggerate how nuts the engagement is on Bluesky compared to 𝕏. a vastly smaller user base (at least officially), but just look at these stats for one of the biggest newspapers on Earth. Musk has absolutely trashed the platform. folks, you are not locked in on 𝕏. not even a little.

Not surprising.
